Spanish Language Report

The Spanish language has seen tremendous growth in the few years since its launch in June of 2017. We could not foresee God moving in the program as we were inundated with over 10,000 enrollments in two months! Above is the list of enrolled students for the past years. So far we have had almost 40,000 students begin training at the Instituto de Líderes Cristianos (Christian Leaders Institute in Spanish). This is all without advertising. We only use our Facebook presence and SEO for our student story blog posts.

Because of the overwhelming response to the program we are undergoing some massive changes this year.

Programs of Study

Since our launch, we have had 1,937 programs of study completed by students.  We currently have 17 programs available for students to complete as of September 2019. By the end of the year, we are going to launch our College program and Ordination program which will add an additional 25 programs!

Courses

Educación Ministerial Gratuita

We currently have 22 Ministry courses (73 credit hours) available and 8 General Education Courses (27 credit hours) available but will have 10 more courses rolling out by 2020. This is in part due to our new partnership with Seminario Todas Las Naciónes (All Nations Seminary in Juarez, Mexico). They have agreed to help develop 12 new courses (one per month) for the next year.

We are well on our way to completing many General Education courses needed for the college program such as, Reading and Writing Comprehension, Biology, Microeconomics and more, all in Spanish!

Spanish alone is in 32 countries with United States being the highest number of graduates, then Mexico, then Colombia and Venezuela.

Venezuela, along with its political turmoil, has had a strong influence of the Catholic Church. It was introduced in its colonization by Spain. According to a 2011 poll (GIS XXI), 88 percent of the population is Christian, primarily Roman Catholic (71%), and the remaining 17 percent Protestant, primarily Evangelicals (in Latin America Protestants are usually called Evangelicos)

In Columbia 99% of the population speak Spanish, the official language of Colombia. It also shares a land border with 5 countries including Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru. We have graduates in all of those countries.

You will be able to read some of our translated student stories below.

Student Stories

These stories have been submitted by students as they graduate their first 4 credit course with us. They have been translated into English but you can read many more stories by students in Spanish by clicking here.

I am Sandra Mejía and I came to know Christ at young age of seven because a friend invited me to church. Then, my father’s conversion took place after many years of me witnessing to him and then a miracle happened.

My younger sister was about to be born and he spent the night in prayer for the Lord to perform a miracle because the doctors said it was impossible for my mother and sister to survive. God heard her prayer and God allowed me to enjoy my mother along with my younger sister’s first 16 years.

God allowed us to go to church together and as a family, we prepared to serve the Lord. My parents opened their doors so that the gospel would be preached in our home. God gave me the opportunity to serve in several ways: assistant in various ministries, teacher and promoter of nursery school; singer in the praise group; support in the evangelism group, secretary and youth leader.

The Lord gave me the joy of having a beautiful family and serving as a teacher of a public educational institution today. God granted me the blessing of being the wife of a wonderful man of God with whom we have two children. Our desire to serve the Lord grows with time and we have prepared to fulfill a bi-vocational call. Our community in Columbia in showing increasing violence and a need for a clear presentation of the gospel. Children and youth are falling prey or getting involved in the violence, drug addiction and depression.

We have to show them the Light, give them Hope, present the Redeemer. With the desire to deepen and my studies in the Word, I explored different options via the internet and found the Instituto de Líderes Cristianos as a wonderful opportunity because of the free courses and amazing professor.

My name is Joshua C. and I am 37 years old. I met the Lord through a supernatural encounter with him at the age of 19 and it changed my life in a revolutionary way. Before this I was a child who came from a dysfunctional home with the absence of a father by abandonment and with a mother terribly beaten by life. My father sometimes took me to different evangelical churches where I continuously listened to Jesus, in this way I began to grow. But alas, my character as a human being was deteriorating with no regard to the most vital things in life such; good moral values or attending primary school with satisfactory grades. I was a bad student if not the worst in the school. By the time I was in high school, I began to hand out with the «bad crows». I became an alcoholic and a drug user on the streets of venezuela. One day my sister saw me after not sleeping for 4 days, not eating or bathing and she let me have it. She yelled at me, calling me a drug addict, loser, and said she was ashamed to be called my sister.

This opened my eyes. I began to see who I had become. I remembered the times my father would take me to church and I called upon the name of the Lord. «Jesus, if you are real, change me!» I felt a strong wind come into the restroom in that house with no window. I fell to my knees from 10 am to 2 pm and stood up a new man. I met my wife and we have a beautiful son and we serve the Lord together.

Today I have a message inside me for all those people that are as lost as I was. I can say with all conviction, there is still hope!!! There is still time!!!! There is someone who restores your time !!!! There is someone who is ready to restore your reputation! There is someone who paid for your sin and his name is Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Wants to preach the Word Bi-Vocationally to Guatemala

My name is Jerson U., I am currently living in the eastern part of the country of Guatemala, in the department of Zacapa, Zacapa Guatemala in Central America. I have the great blessing of having grown up in a home with Christian principles. During my childhood and my adolescence I thought that I was a good person. I did not say lie, I did not have any addictions, I always attended church and helped others. That made me suppose that I was going to go to Heaven without needing to repent of anything. I was good, I thought to myself. However, in a spiritual retreat of the Church, I heard the preacher saying that we have all sinned and are guilty of breaking the commandments of God. That makes us dead and separated from God. That is why we should recognize that we are separated from God and sin against God. We had to understand that without Jesus Christ, we can not approach God the Father because our sin separates us. It is Jesus Christ who forgives us and brings us closer to God the Father

Then I understood that salvation is not obtained by our efforts, nor by our good works. Now I live under the lordship of Christ to show my gratitude for that unmerited favor.

Now my longing in the ministry is to train the people I am ministering to be leaders who make a difference. That they be radical, that they are passionate about winning souls for the kingdom of God, that they are intercessors and that they are equipped with the Word of God to reproduce more leaders that bring revival to the family, to the Church and to our nation and to all nations.

In Guatemala it is said that more than 40% of the population are evangelical Christians, but we do not see that the results that are expected of a country that fears God. We need a revival so that the fear of God is in our hearts and we are true imitators of Christ. We need to be doers of the Word and not just hearers.

That’s why I appreciate ILC for their program and amazing courses. My desire is to be a bi-vocational minister, in order to serve in a better way and help more people. My prayer request is for a spiritual awakening to the works of God as a Church and in my nation. Thanks to all those who make it possible for the ILC to reach many people. God bless you.
